I am a long time user of Vegas, starting with Sony Vegas consumer version nearly a decade ago. This is my first time using Vegas again zdobe at least five years, so I am unaware of how it compares to the most recent prior versions.
Things started out a bit shaky. I had to eject the disk to forcibly disrupt the installation. I simply waited it out in both cases and the installation began after a few minutes.
Launching the program opens Vegas in timeline mode. Vegas is aimed at moderate to professional users, so there is no storyboard view option. The timeline workspace is neat and well organized and I find Vegas just as easy and intuitive to use as my many consumer programs. The thing that can clutter many consumer grade editors is when they try too hard to be a jack of all trades and put everything in one location. You can keep the default window layout or arrange floating windows any way you wish.
While some of the features of Vegas adobe premiere pro cc vs sony vegas pro 15 free feel disjointed at times, the timeline interface is clean and clutter-free for actual editing.
The included plugins integrate seamlessly into the workflow but reliability is an issue. More on that in a moment.

There is simply no way for me to fully explore the extent of this file. I don’t own a host vss professional quality HD cameras. I’m reviewing this as an intermediate video editor – pre, iere hobbiest – who understands that there are consumers who want a video editing software without paying twenty a month for it.
The stacked timeline and viewer felt very at home to me. I strongly urge you to go through the interactive tutorials. This isn’t MS Word, unless you’re familiar already familiar with the software package, don’t expect to “wing it”. They were good enough to include the interactive tutorials, use them. Once you’ve got that down there are books and YouTube videos for more complex features. I was able to afobe my video and sound and cut two different videos together fairly easily.
It’s been a long time since I’ve used video editing software and I was impressed with how quickly my video rendered. I experienced no crashes, but the video I put together was pretty straightforward and shouldn’t have been taxing for the software to accomplish.
When I used Premier last, if you wanted your video on physical media, you were on your own. Tutorials are also included for these bits as well, which is great. I’m not your guy, I was prk this product for free and needed it for some personal projects I’m working on. However, this isn’t a bad buy for the hobbiest either. It simply does not work.
